ICT

Buarth y Capel is fortunate to have "state of the art" technology and  has equipment such as iBoards, iPads,  iPods and laptops. Students   have access to a range of apps on the iPads  which can assist them in learning, this may be through communication apps which  speak words when students click on the picture.  

Students use iPods and iPads to take photographs  and  create a weekly newsletter using Microsoft Word on the laptop,  which  is sent home to the parents.

Students use ICT in the sensory room, use ICT as part of the food skills lesson, when they operate the food processor and through life skills when they use items such as the washing machine and dishwasher. ICT is used purposefully at BYC whether as a discrete subject  to take photographs, create posters  or magazines or whether to aid life skills.
