Our MOODLE page
The Foundation Phase is about enhancing the learning experiences which enable children to be creative, imaginative and to have fun whilst learning.
The Foundation Phase places great emphasis on experiential learning and is broken down into seven areas of learning:
- Personal and social development, well-being and cultural diversity
- Language, literacy and communication skills
- Mathematical development
- Welsh Language Development
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Physical development
- Creative development
All children in Foundation Phase Autism have access to this curriculum.
In order for them to do this successfully, we place a great deal of emphasis on communication and behaviour and work with each child in accordance with their own individual phase and stage of development in order to help them to communicate their wants, needs and thoughts. We use a number of strategies, including: PECS, Makaton, communication aids and TEACCH.
