EXTERNAL MODERATION PROGRAMME 2008 – 2011 RHAGLEN SAFONI ALLANOL 2008 - 2011 Ysgol Ty Coch has an external programme for monitoring that has been in place for many years. Phases and subjects are scrutinised and recommendations become part of the school improvement plans.
As part of our external moderation programme we are planning for Art, D&T and PE to be monitored by ESIS/ LA advisors. Art is arranged for March 2011, the advisor will spend one day in classes and one day with Sarah Jones (TLR in secondary) looking at the curriculum, provision and value added.
D&T is arranged for March also, with a similar plan. PE is to be arranged.

Ysgol Ty Coch is reviewed several times a year by ESIS/LEA, Link Adviser and a report follows outlining what evidence was presented and the way forward. At Ysgol Ty Coch we are very proud of the Quality of the Progress Files and Records of Achievements owned by every pupil in the school. As part of this process we are annually reviewed by an ESIS advisor who meets with managers, staff and pupils and views our learning pathways. WJEC MODERATION AT KS3 SAFONI CA3 CBAC
The school has been involved in KS3 external moderation in core and foundation subjects since 2008- 2011
Teachers within each subject area have identified and collated samples of evidence which illustrate the range of learner attainment within the subject across the school which exemplifies the schools collective understanding and application of national curriculum standards.
External moderation supports and strengthens subject department systems and procedures for internal standardisation of teacher assessment.
This evidence is scrutinised by the WJEC and all subject areas have received positive reports.
