Duke of Edinburgh

Ysgol Ty Coch is a directly licensed centre of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

We are currently delivering, Bronze, Silver & Gold Awards. The Award is achieved by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections (five for Gold). The Duke of Edinburgh Award is  offered to pupils in the 14-19 department  as part of their options curriculum. If pupils choose this as an option, then usually this option will last for two years.
 

Volunteering - helping someone, your community or the environment 

Physical - becoming fitter through sport, dance or fitness activities

Skills - developing existing talents or trying something new 

Expedition - planning, training for and completing an adventurous journey 

Residential (Gold only) - staying and working away from home as part of a team
