EMA

What is EMA?

Education Maintenance Allowance is a weekly payment of £30 to help 16, 17, and 18 year olds with the costs of further education.

Payments are made every two weeks as long as the pupil continues to meet the  school's attendance requirements.

Getting EMA won't affect any benefits that the pupil or their family already receives.

The YTC office holds EMA application forms for the current academic year and new forms are received around March/April for the following academic year.  The forms are distributed to every pupil who is due to enter Year 12. Parents/guardians complete the forms  and return to the address  which is printed on the forms.
