Eyegaze Snowdon Challenge
Ysgol Ty Coch is overwhelmed once again by the kindness of the friends of the school. The father of two of our Support Staff has organised a team to climb Snowdon to raise funds for Eyegaze. Many of our staff are taking part and we will soon have sponorship forms available. Please continue reading to find out more from John Moulden about the wonderful Snowdon Challenge.
A team of people will be climbing Snowdon in May to raise funds to aid the purchase of the Eyegaze Equipment. The cost of this is within the region of £7000 and on behalf of Ysgol Ty Coch we aim to raise money to help the school achive that goal.
The Eyegaze Edge is an eye-operated communication and control system that empowers people with disabilities to communicate and interact with the world. By looking at control keys or cells displayed on a screen, a user can generate speech either by typing a messaage or selecting pre-programmed phrases. Eyegaze Edge system will enable pupils at school and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities all over the world.
Ysgol Ty Coch and its pupils will benefit greatly from this remarkable piece of equipment, giving so many pupils the chance to communicate on a level which previously would have been impossible. This will be an opportunity to say something as simple as "Hello" right through to making choices or telling a story. The list of possibilities are endless.
'The Climb' will take place 23rd May 2015 and we would be very grateful for any contribution.
