The Governing Body plays a vital role in supporting the strategic direction, effectiveness and continuous improvement of the school. Governors meet formally once each term to discuss matters of importance, including school performance, learner outcomes, wellbeing, safeguarding, finance, staffing and future development priorities. Through these meetings, governors work closely with school leaders to ensure that the school continues to provide the highest possible standards of education and support for all learners.

In addition to full Governing Body meetings, governors serve on a range of specialist committees, including Finance, Premises, Staffing and Curriculum. These committees meet regularly throughout the year to consider specific aspects of school life in greater detail and make recommendations that support effective governance and decision-making.

Our governors are committed volunteers who generously give their time, expertise and experience to support the school community. They participate in ongoing professional development and training to ensure they remain informed about current educational developments, legislation and their statutory responsibilities. This enables them to challenge and support school leaders effectively while maintaining strong accountability.

Governors also make regular visits to the school, providing valuable opportunities to see learning in action, meet staff and learners, and gain a greater understanding of the school's day-to-day operations. These visits help governors build strong relationships within the school community and ensure that decisions are informed by first-hand knowledge of the experiences of our learners and staff.
