Careers Wales Mark / Gatsby Award

Ysgol Ty Coch successfully achieved the Careers Wales Quality Mark in November 2014. The Quality Mark was developed following the introduction of the framework for Careers and the World of Work.  

In relation to the Careers Wales Mark and continuous quality improvement, there was an audit against the CWW framework and self assessment according to the new Estyn framework was undertaken. Careers Wales supported Ysgol Ty Coch in this audit. An Action Plan for CWW was created, and the evidence was provided. The plan was implemented and a review of the action plan/ development plan and self assessment was undertaken. The progress against the action plan and the impact of this on the teaching and learning of Careers and the World of Work was measured, with a range of evidence being produced.

Careers and Work Related Education is now part of the new curriculum from 3-16 and continued in Sixth form at Ysgol Ty Coch. It is being embedded in the context booklets, and we are undertaking an audit of the 17 points to ensure coverage and progression.
