Ysgol Ty Coch held the first Family Values Assembly in October 2013. Since then, it has become a very important part of the school. Once a term, parents are invited to engage with the school to complete a home/school project related to a theme. The idea is that families work on the project at home together and bring the results to school.
The school then holds a special assembly once a term to celebrate this work and give out prizes. Parents and family members are invited to attend this assembly where they also receive an overview of the work being undertaken in school by their child.
Each project is underpinned by a theme and our latest assembly held on 2nd December 2016 celebrated 'friendships'. The assembly was really well attended by parents who then enjoyed a cup of coffee and a mince pie in the Leavers Coffee Shop.
Family Values is a fun way to get your whole family involved in your child's education. If you require any any additional information, please dont hesitate to contact Rachael Rogers - Head of the Primary Department.
At present, Family Values assemblies are only celebrated in the primary department, but there are plans to extend this approach to secondary classes early in New Year 2017.
