More Able and Talented Pupils
Pupils who are More Able and Talented (MAT) are recognised at YTC. These pupils have been identified through assessment and teacher observation of their skills. Pupils are usually identified as being MAT if they achieve Instep Assessment at Level 3 90% or above(3-14) or if they achieve Entry 3 at BKSB (14-19). Following identification, an individual MAT plan is put in place, which ensures that each individual is on a pathway to achieve excellent progression in the areas of learning. Where there are pupils in the 14-19 department who are MAT, there will be particular emphasis on a pupil's vocational interests and extension of accreditation/ work experience.
