School Improvement Group (SIG)

YTC is part of  a SIG group and is involved in projects across the Consortium, which aid improving standards. In the group there are special schools, primary and nursery schools.

In 2015 the project involved raising standards across the SIG group through book scrutiny, ensuring consistency with marking and scrutinising of books.

In 2016/17 the focus is on developing the Digital Competence Framework. Staff have been involved with tracking the pupil against the DCF and organising  guest speakers to advise  and give training with regard to the DCF.

In 2018-19 the sixth form worked with SIG 17 for a showcase on the 12 pedagogical principles, focussing on positive relationships. The students attended a showcase on  this and led sessions based on mindfulness.

In 2019-20 KS3 worked with SIG17 to develop creative arts and digital media
